Word

The gospel is often called the good word, but in this blog I want to focus on the power of persuasion and rhetoric.

The word is a powerful thing. Wars are solved before they begin with the word. Most forms of education are given with the word. Even the churches keystone is simply revelation in word. It is a powerful form of communication that has served the world for good and for bad since the first very histories were recorded.
My personal example is its power to persuade me in my own beliefs. When I watch TV or surf the internet I am only entertaining myself. There is an uncertainty that remains with these two outlets. Thus, if I want to read effectively subjective literature, I turn to the printed word. I trust a publicized work by a national corporation to be truthful and in turn powerful in the convincing of my thoughts and believes. It offers me a chance to decide for myself to side with the author, or object entirely. The power of the word is even apparent in our social lives as well. Why do you think break ups are often done over lined pieces of paper?
I close with the hope that it will stay this way, with the word having so much power in its hands. Hopefully we can continue to use it to persuade, influence and even entertain all the peoples of the world and maybe even the next one. Amen :)

That was a good way to end it. It showed what you were saying. Good thoughts. Words are,...epic, no?

I'll take the analytic approach here: How is the word different between TV and print? And I don't know where you are from, but where I am from, breakups are done in person or on the phone. Go figure.

I haven't really been thinking about the power of words in religion. Good thoughts.
