This whole new "Go Green" deal that is all over the country has worked it's way into food, creating an ethos for companies to sell there products with. "If you are an environmentalist than you can't by anything that isn't green!" Not being an environmentalist is very unpopular you see, thus we have a moral obligation to take this world conservation upon ourselves and pay more to fund our big corporation's liberation programs.
Advertising has the whole pathos idea down. They wouldn't be effective if they didn't. Every commercial has comedy, emotion, sex, popularity, and just about every appealing worldly desire to get the message across that the masses want to hear. We just have to look through the clever publicizing and find if a product is really worth it or not.
Finally logos, anything logical, anything with numbers, facts or research falls into this realm. To an extremely reasonable person, this could very well be the only convincing form of rhetoric. Its just another way to get a point across. Logos and pathos are also intertwined, because any random fact may not be powerful unless creates pathos and effects the receiver directly.
All three are intertwined, some more than others and they are the way all of us write whether we care to acknowledge it or not. As soon as we begin to use these on purpose and with purpose, we will become the effective writers we no doubt want to be.

It's so true about the way that ads work with our emotions. The people who make the ads are really smart about how they try and persuade us to buy a product since they know how we work and think. I find myself falling into their traps a lot because of how well they catch my emotions. It's like we talked about in class with the starving children and how they'll show one poor little kid that has nothing to eat and ask us "to donate money to save a child's life." I mean come on, who isn't going to feel bad or guilty?
Ads definitely work because of how they get to our emotions. i agree with katie's comment about the poor kid posters. they always make me wanna donate money!
Good examples. We see more and more of these techniques incorporated in the media and especially advertising. Ethos, Pathos, and Logos appeal to everyone in some way or another. Well done.
Good comments. You really understand ethos, pathos and logos, good job!
